What an awesome end to a fantastic, and very closely contested, 2007 summer league - it all came down to last nights performances, so well done!! Thanks to everyone who participated in making this our most successful league yet - good spirit, skills, DEFENCE, attitude and general fun by all.

Unfortunately, due to the many players going to the beach tournament in Italy, we will be skipping out on the prize giving (for now) but wanted to mention some good performances from the league results. Firstly, the winning team was Ultimatum which won a closely, and fiercely, contested match last night against the second placed Costanello 15-11. Not to mention, the battle for 3rd place which went to The MIX , who narrowly beat out The ‘B’ Team by 15 points to 11. The final log looks like this:

There were some notable performances during the league some of which are mentioned below.

For The B Team:
The top scorers were Wesley (44) & Baden (22)
The top Assists were Mike (31) & Richard (25)
The top overall were Wesley (51) & Mike (37) & Baden (37)
The Top Combo’s were Mike to Wesley (14) & Richard to Wesley (12)

For The MIX:
The Top Scorers were Mark (22) & Max (18)
The top Assists were Mark (22) & Max (19)
The top overall were Mark (44) & Max (37)
The Top Combo’s were Mark to Max (8) & Max to Mark (8) - Did Mark and Max do anything else?

For Costanello:
The top scorers were Dylan (22) & Tamlyn (22)
The top Assists were Martin (26) & Alain (25)
The top overall were Scott (36) & Dylan (35)
The Top Combo’s were Alain to Dylan (8) & Scott, Tamlyn, Martin, Dylan, Alain various combos on (5)

For Ultimatum:
The top Scorers were Andrew (33) & John (18)
The top Assists were John (38) & Ryan (28)
The top overall were John (56) & Andrew (38)
The Top Combo’s were John to Andrew (14) & Ryan to Andrew (11)

OVERALL:
Top Scorers Wesley Roberts (44) & Andrew Evans (33)
Top Assists John Miller (38) & Mike Weston (31)

Best Defender Nominations: John, Wesley, Dylan, Scott, Mike with 3 each
Most Valuable Player Nominations: Mike & Tamlyn with 4 each
Most Nominations were: Mike (7) & six players on 5 each

Interesting facts:

* Mike & Wesley dominate the top overall performers but come from the worst placed team
* 27 of 36 games ended in the losing team scoring 10 or more (the worst defeat being 2 by The MIX
* The ‘B’ team, although placed last had a points difference of only -12, The MIX came third but a PD of -30!!
* The ‘B’ Team have 4 combo’s in the top 10, Ultimatum have 3, The MIX have 2 and Costanello 1, however
o IN the Top 30 its mostly dominated by Costanello - this shows that the Costanello players all took an active role in their teams (almost) success.
* The average losing score was 8,33
* The average winning score was 14,67
* Costanello lost 4 of their last 5, where as Ultimatum won 4 of their last 5 - lets hope this is not a trend overseas!!
